Corporate Social Responsibility |
|
At Costain West Africa, we conduct our business with due regard to integrity and in accordance with the relevant laws and Regulations in place. We have gone beyond just complying with relevant laws.
As an integral part of the society where we operate we strive as much as is practicable to give back to the society. We view it as an obligation and this explains why the Company takes steps in contributing to good and worthy causes that will be beneficial to the society.
Having come to the realization that there are several areas within which the company can take up CSR, it has in the meantime embraced sporting activities as an area to discharge its corporate social responsibility.
In the past year, sponsorships were extended to Ibadan Polo Club, Rugby Tournament, and Bonny Camp Primary School, Victoria Island. Monies were also donated to enable them achieve their developmental goals.
In our operational sites, we engage the local communities by actively training some youths in skills development and also provide learning facilities by taking on students undergoing industrial attachments in Engineering and other fields relevant to the Company’s operations. Because Safety is an integral part of our work ethics, we pass this along to the local communities where we operate. We provide safety materials, clothing etc to the local community and also improve the environment where we operate.
The Company shall deepen its CSR roles to cover a wider segment of the society and ensure that intrinsic and extrinsic values of CSR are achieved. |
