The Company is committed to the promotion of Health, Safety and Environmental Standards at all our work sites and offices. Essentially health safety and environmental issues are incorporated in all the Company’s operation.

Costain West Africa does not compromise on safety standards as we have in force Health and Safety regulations within the premises and sites where the Company operates. Safe work practices, methods and procedures are well documented and adhered to.

In our work place, there is zero tolerance to the accidents and this explains why risk assessments are always carried out before the commencement of projects. Our Employees are provided with the necessary information, instructions, safety work tools and supervision required to ensure we achieve sustainable safe work practices.

At Costain West Africa, we are committed to maintaining best practices as it relates to Health, Safety and Environment. We think and act safety in all our operations. It is culture in Costain for it is intrinsic and never absent in all our operations.

We have a guiding principle on Safety in our various sites. Any employees about to commence or start any activity in any of our sites are enjoined to think, observe, reflect and then proceed with the particular activity with care. This operational code is indentified by the acronym hereunder

The Welfare and health of workers is of paramount importance to The Company. We have clinics manned by qualified medical personnel that provide health care for all employees in our operational sites. Where there is need for referrals, the employee is referred to any of the hospitals whose services are retained by the Company. Dependants of employees enjoy free medical facilities as well.

There is in place a Health, Safety, and Environment Committee which meets quarterly and primarily reviews the Company’s Safety Rules and Procedure and advises on the modifications and changes to be made thereon. The company complies with the relevant Statutes on Health and Safety and continues to maintain good safety records within the Construction Sector.
