Costain opens branch in Ghana

Construction company Costain [West Africa] Plc has opened a new branch in Ghana.The company’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer [CEO], Ayodeji Karim, told newsmen on Monday in Lagos that the decision to open a branch in the former Gold Coast was informed by the need to strengthen the operations of the company as well as spread its wings outside the shores of Nigeria.

 

He said operations at the new branch would soon come on stream.According to him, the construction company intends to spread its tentacles to other English speaking West Africans countries in due course with a view to sustaining its growth.

 

Costain [West Africa] Plc was incorporated in 1948 as a private limited company in the country. It went public on the 13th of March, 1974.

 

He also spoke on the furniture and joinery division recently created by his company.

 

He explained that it was in order to meet the growing demand for high quality furniture that informed the company’s decision to carve out the furniture and joinery division.

 

He said the new division was also an opportunity for his company to provide additional services to its clients as most the company’s projects required some form of wood work.

 

“Since the establishment of the Furniture and Joinery Division, it has produced and delivered state of the art furniture for buildings, residential complexes and offices. Costain West Africa recently produced furniture for the Shell Trustees Housing Estate in Maitama, Abuja.
