Costain’s 2008 turnover triples 2007 performance |
Costain West Africa investors may have cause to jubilate this year as the company is set to declare a turnover that triples its previous year’s performance. Indication to this effect was given Thursday by the company’s managing director, Phil Wharton, in an exclusive interview with Business Day.
The year 2007 was a remarkable one for the company, being the year the construction firm made a strong statement about its return to profitability. Its turnover in 2007 increased to N3 billion, a 174 percent increase over the previous year’s performance. Suffice it to say that the company’s turnover in 2008 would be in the region of N9 billion.
With the company’s continued impressive performance, Wharton insists there is now no reason why it would not re-establish dividend payment to investors by March 2009, the company’s operating year ends in March.
The man who pioneered Costain out of distress already has plans to take the company beyond the shores of Nigeria
